Boxing Day and Liam's First Swim

For Boxing Day we went to lunch at George's house. We had a very nice relaxing day there eating good food and lounging by the pool. Liam got in the pool for the first time. He wasn't too sure of what was really happening so I'm not sure if he enjoyed it or not. But he looks super cute in his little rashi!

Liam's First Christmas

Liam's first christmas was very exciting for us. He woke up at 6:30am a time I could definitely tolerate. First thing we did was help open all his presents. I'm not sure he knew what was entirely happening but all the same he seemed to enjoy the ripping of the paper part. We then went to Mum's for lunch and Kellie's for dessert. Then home for all of Rocky's family were coming over for tea.

I got a bit of an extra special christmas present too Liam said Mum for the first time. I didn't believe it at first but now he will just say Mum straight out. So I was very excited and now Rocky is trying to get him to say Dad. So cute!

Here are the photos from Christmas:

Liam opening some of his presents and posing for photos with them.

I just love this photo of Liam and Brock.
The monkeys are a plate and a placemat that Liam got as a present from Kellie, Charlie and Brock I think it is hilarious.

The iCushion isn't Liam's it belongs to Brock but basically it is an iPhone shaped cushion. Liam loved laying on it and clearly it has been a long day, he needed the rest.

This is Liam amongst all his presents from Christmas. He was one spoilt little boy but a happy one at that.

The Night Before Christmas

Liam's first christmas is just hours away!
So before he went to bed we had to set out some treats for Santa and his reindeer. Santa's treats are homemade biscuits and a can of coke with his name on it and the reindeers are getting a carrot each.

Christmas Photo Shoot

The photo shoot I had been waiting for or should I say hanging out for. I must admit, it didn't go exactly as I wanted but nevertheless I got some good shots out of about 80 photos.
So here are some of the photos. Well pretty much the best of.

The ones below are called my Blair Witch Photos. There is a setting on my camera called Film Grain but I call it Blair Witch. Anyway I just thought I'd try it out to see, I actually kinda like them in a bit of an arty way.

Liam Upgraded To The Cot

Over the weekend we decided that it was time for Liam to move into his cot from the bassinet.
Well what a good move it was. He fell asleep within seconds of getting in there. He then stayed asleep for way too long and I had to wake him. It was his afternoon sleep which was almost turning into his evening sleep definitely didn't want that happening. So these are a couple of photos of Liam sleeping in his cot (obviously)

Liam 8 Months Old

Liam is changing so much and so quickly. He sits up on his own but a bit unbalanced but he still just loves to stand.
We went to the child health nurse today and got his stats... 6.780kgs and 64 cms tall.
Still little but thats ok as it is going up. I just have to feed him more real food which I'm lucky, he likes most of the things I cook and/or give him with the exception of fruit he is just not a fan of it.
Here are a few photos I took of him on the weekend just gone. I love his little outfit especially those shoes.

Christmas Lights at Nan and Pop's

Saturday night we had a christmas party for Turning On The Lights at Mum and Dad's place. They had been "collecting" christmas trees and lights to make a magical christmas theme in the backyard. It looked pretty good at dusk with no lights on but then after dark it got even better once the lights were turned on.

So here are the photos before dark:

And here are the photos after dark:

Lights everywhere, thats Rocky and Liam incase you can't make it out.

Liam absolutely loved it all.

Look What I Made...

I've had this tray for awhile ok a really long time. It just sat in the back room for most of the time doing nothing. I got it in an op shop which I think I paid $2 for. I finally cleaned out the rooms and this is one item that was going to go to a garage sale. So I think it went to 2 of them and never sold. I saw it at Mum's latest garage sale and grabbed it as I had an idea in my head of something I wanted to do with it. So this is my first repurpose of an item I've ever done.

This is the tray before:

This is the tray after:

Gave it a clean, then a few coats of paint. Then I applied gel medium to the base of the tray laid my birdie paper on it. Then applied the gel medium all over to seal it and give it shine. Its still kinda wet in the after photo. But I am very happy with my handiwork.

Liam Met Santa

Today Liam met Santa. I have been hanging out for Santa to hit the shops so that I could take Liam to see him. I was a bit apprehensive as I wasn't sure how he would go with a big man and all this fluff and stuff around him but he surprised me. He sat on his knee no problem he smiled and laughed and didn't really mind. I must admit the Santa was very nice too so maybe that helped.

So here is the photo that made me proud of my little boy for not being scared of Santa.

It may be a whole different story next year.

Liam 7 Months Old

I will show off Liam at 7 months old with photos. Just cause he is so damn cute and interesting at the moment that words can't really describe.
I will tell you that he now weighs 6.4kgs not sure of his height but I really don't think its changed that much. He only has two teeth the bottom middle. He talks alot more but not actual words just Liam noises I guess he is learning what he can do. He went through a week of growling and then he gurgled for another week. He is sooo ticklish I have never known a baby to be so ticklish. Its so funny when he starts laughing and giggling.

Now onto the photos:
All Photos taken at South Beach. Liam loved the Seagulls. Whenever they got close he would get so excited and then just watch them walk away as in the first photos.

Happy Birthday To Me

Today is my birthday so it falling on a Monday we celebrated on the weekend. We had dinner at Mum and Dad's on Saturday night. Check out Liam getting excited about the cake. Tell me? Is it built in to all kids at how awesome cake is. Liam is 7 months old and he has never eaten cake but yet he gets so excited over it like this and wants it. He does the same with coke too. So strange and a little worrisome.

We celebrated in our usual style, lunch at the Pickled Fig. I really should be getting some credit from these guys about me selling their restaurant on my blog. I mean its only been like the millionth time this year that we have been there. Anyway... so we had a nice lunch and took some photos of course which I will put in a separate post. I got some cool presents too. Rocky got me something that I asked for but just didn't think I would actually even get. Its a Blythe doll. I will show you a photo. I really liked this one I saw once on a website so I asked but cause you can't get them in Australia it made it a little hard to find someone that sold it and then ship to Australia. But he did and I now have my very own Blythe doll called Raspberry Sorbet (thats her name that the people who make gave her not a name that I made up myself.) Photo isn't the best taken on the iPhone. Her eyes change colour too when you pull on the pull string.

Melbourne Cup Day

Liam's first Melbourne Cup.
We had lunch at Hazel's place with about 20 other women.
As with all Melbourne Cups you have to dress up (its a bit of a pre-requisite when it comes to Racing) so I made Liam's little onesie vest. I'd seen them on the internet alot and thought hey I could make that. So I did, I'm getting pretty good at that. Oh and he actually had on real shoes today little sandals that are so cute.
I couldn't decide on the best photo so I've put them all in.
