My Little Pumpkin- Happy Halloween

I do love Halloween. I know its very american and all that but I do love the little kids knocking on the door and saying trick or treat. Last year we had so many kids but I think it helped that I had the front of the house decorated with ghosts. So atleast the parents knew that it was safe to knock on our door. This year we have bats nothing over the top but I think they look pretty cool.
Hopefully the kids will like them too.
Seeing as it was Liam's first Halloween I had to get him a costume. So I made it, a pumpkin. He is so damn cute in it. I got the idea from scrolling through a gazillion websites trying to find easy costumes to make for babies. I decided on the pumpkin as it was the most obvious choice but it also seemed to be the easiest. I kind of made it up in my head but I got the idea for the channels with stuffing from Martha Stewart. She made a pumpkin costume for her dog it is very cute so I kinda copied that and put my own twist on it too. I didn't even measure Liam I just guessed and it all worked out so I was very, very happy with my effort.

Here are the photos:
The first one is my favourite.

This is what I did to the front door this year for Halloween. I hope they stay stuck on the wall.

The Great Aussie BBQ for the Queen

Today was the last day of the Queen's Australian Tour. She finished it off with a bbq with about 200,000 West Aussies.
The Queen left Government House at about 11am and went in a motorcade through the city down to the esplanade. She arrived on stage around 11:20am where she was welcomed with a few songs and some nice words from our Premier.
The Queen also made a speech saying how she enjoyed her trip to Australia very much and that today's event was an excellent way to end her tour. After that she moved down into the crowd with Prince Phillip and they 'mingled' with the crowd.
She met chef Anna Gare (Junior Masterchef) who cooked her own bbq but the Queen did not eat anything. She spoke to alot of children and some did drawings for her and gave her flowers. It was very nice to see and everyone that was there just seemed to be having the best day.

Mum, Emma and I volunteered to help cook the bbq's. Wow I never want to see another Bunnings hot dog again! We had been serving for half an hour but it felt like 3 hours. The line was massive and it didn't quieten down for about 2 hours. We got about a 15 minute break when the queen was actually there. It was fun and tiring but we had a great team and everyone worked really well.

Here are today's pictures:

Big Perth sign just incase you forgot where you were. Haha.
I do think they should keep it cause it looks pretty awesome.

This one is the best photo I could get of her on stage without it being an actual photo of the tv.

It turned out to be a great day and one that I will always remember.
Now we just have to have our fingers crossed for Will and Kate to come to Australia.

We saw the Queen... fleetingly!

CHOGM is being held in Perth and its been pretty huge. The obvious highlight (well for me anyway) is having the Queen here in Perth. So today we caught the train into the city to stand on the street and catch a glimpse of her as she drove past on her way back to Government House from the meeting at the convention centre. We being Mum, Granny, Emma, Brock, me and Liam.
We arrived in Perth fairly early at about 9:30 we got our place on St George's Terrace. We had only been there for a few minutes and because we thought we would have a while to wait, I decide to go to the toilet. Well that was the silliest thing ever as I missed the queen travelling to the convention centre. Good one me!
Anyway we waited around for her second drive through the city. When she finally drove past it went by so quick I think I glanced at her for about 5 seconds. They weren't driving very slow at all well not slow enough to be able to take a decent photo.

So these are the photos from today:

Liam waiting patiently.

Me and Liam

Here she comes!!!!

There she is!
Don't blink you'll miss her.

and there she goes.

Liam not sure what just happened
but atleast he can say he was there for the last time the Queen came to Australia.

Stay tuned for tomorrow as Mum, Emma and I are working the BBQ I'll have more photos hopefully.

Liam 6 Months Old

I forgot to do a 6 month update! Whoops anyway he is now about 6 and a half months.
Which is ok close enough.
But today is a great day to do it as Liam got his first tooth. I know, sooo exciting. He has been acting all cranky for a bit of the week but I put that down to his needles. I think that just turned out to be a coincidence. He got a tooth on the bottom front middle to the left type spot. Sorry I'm not a dentist and don't know the correct position name for it.
Other facts about Liam he is about 6kgs and 62cms tall. He still stands, alot. His sitting is getting better, those core muscles are finally doing what they are meant to do. He is very vocal some mornings he wakes up and just lays there talking out loud. Its very cute. Oh and he holds his own bottle which has been great as I can now give him a bottle and leave him to it and be able to get ready for work. We have also started giving him more food which he loves. Only vegetables so far and some fruit and sometimes he gets custard when he is lucky. (That means when I remember to buy it from the shop.)

Here are two photos I just took of him trying to get photos of his tooth but of course never going to happen.

My New Favourite Photo

Yes I tend to have a lot of my new favourite photo posts but this one I am just in love with.
Rocky took the photo on his iPhone. It is so gorgeous his eyes are so bright and he was just a very happy baby. Then I used my apps to change it and these are the results.

My New Favourite Photo

Outside enjoying the sunshine!

You are so super cute!

The Apple Doesn't Fall Far from the Tree

This is a photo of me.
Not sure how old I am but assuming around the same age Liam is now if not a bit older.

This is a photo of Liam.
You can see some similarity between us.

In saying this he does look a bit like Rocky when he was a baby too.
I have to get some photos scanned in of Rocky as a baby to prove it.

Look What I Made!

This is a present for one of the girls I used to work with at Maud's. Her name is Alana and is a very morbid person. I'm sure she won't mind me saying that. She turned 21 last week and is going to be leaving Mauds soon as she has a new job in the Mortuary at Fremantle Hospital. So I made this keyring for her to put her new work keys on. A little bit inappropriate/appropriate not sure? I did the embroidery using a pattern from Sublime Stitching. Best website ever for really cool and extremely different embroidery patterns. I then backed with black felt put a little stuffing in it and sewed it up. Easy as!
